This is gonna be so cheesy.

It’s silly that we think sharing bible verses that we like would be cheesy, but it feels like it. But let’s step out and share scripture that is meaningful to us. I know that these scriptures have deeply affected who I am as a person and I’d love to know which one’s are your favorites as well.

Look at the nations and watch— and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told. – Habakkuk 1:5

Stop worrying. God’s got big plans. Sometimes we just have to sit back and watch them unfold.

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 3:14

I like the verses before this as well (Phil 3:12-13). Paul is basically saying, I’m not perfect, but I’m pressing on. *Insert Relient K song here* He’s setting goals and winning hearts for the gospel.

But if I say, “I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot. – Jeremiah 20:9

I actually remember first learning this verse from my youth pastor.  But I mean, shouldn’t this be the church communications mission statement?

After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. – 1 Kings 19:12

My love for this verse is deep and convoluted. It would take a whole blog post to explain. Let’s say that God is big, sovereign, and sometimes does actually speak to you if you’re willing to really listen.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. – Ecclesiastes 3:11

Good things take time – his time. Not my time, his time. He’s the author of time. I feel like at some point I rambled on about how God controls all of time and can do with it how He pleases because he lives outside of time constraints. That’s for another day though, kids. 😉
