Delete your data.
How to ask me to delete information my social media tool or my site holds about you, including Facebook, Instagram, and Threads data.
In plain English
If you've commented on, mentioned, or messaged one of my social media accounts, my social media tool (Brightbean Studio) may hold a copy. Ask me through the contact form and I'll delete it within 30 days. You can also remove the app's access from your own Facebook, Instagram, or Threads settings.
What this covers
I run Brightbean Studio, a private social media tool at studio.katieallred.com, to post to and manage my own social media accounts. When you comment on, mention, or message one of those accounts on Facebook, Instagram, or Threads, the tool may store your comment or message along with the public name, username, and profile picture the platform shares. My privacy policy explains what the tool collects and why.
This page explains how to have that information deleted. It also covers anything else katieallred.com holds about you, like your email list sign-up or a form you sent.
Ask me to delete your data
- Send a message through the contact form with the subject “Delete my data.”
- Tell me which platform you used (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, or something else) and your name or username there, so I can find your comments and messages.
- I’ll delete what the tool and this site hold about you within 30 days and reply to confirm. If I’m legally required to keep something (for example, purchase records for taxes), I’ll tell you what and why.
Deleting your data from my tool doesn’t delete a comment you posted publicly on the platform itself. You can delete that comment on Facebook, Instagram, or Threads, and I’m happy to remove it from my posts if you ask.
Remove access from your own account
I’m the only person who signs in to Brightbean Studio, so most people never connect an account to it. If you did connect one (for example, if you help manage one of my Pages), you can remove the tool’s access yourself:
- Facebook and Instagram: in Facebook, go to Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations (or Apps and websites), find Brightbean Studio, and choose Remove. Facebook will also ask you whether to delete activity the app posted for you.
- Threads: in Threads, go to Settings → Account → Website permissions, find Brightbean Studio, and choose Remove.
Removing access stops the tool from getting new information from your account. To have what it already stored deleted, send me a request as described above.
