Free starter kit

A church website in an afternoon.

Five plain pages that answer a first-timer's real questions, built by handing an AI coding tool a one-page brief. Get the site, the brief that produced it, and the steps to make it yours and host it for free.

What's inside

Five pages. One stylesheet. No developer.

Home, plan your visit, ministries, give and contact, each written in plain language for someone who has never been to your church, and each editable in any text editor.

The home page of the starter site: a headline, service times, three buttons, this week's announcements and a new-here section
  • The site

Five HTML pages and one stylesheet. Change the three colors at the top of the file, replace the brackets, and it's your church.

  • The brief

The one-page prompt that produced it. Paste it into an AI coding tool with your own details and get your own version back.

  • The walkthrough

How to change the text, add photos, wire the forms, and publish for free on Cloudflare Pages, Netlify or GitHub Pages.

  • Built-in basics

A skip link, headings in order, 4.5:1 contrast, a phone menu, a unique title and description per page, and Church structured data.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know how to code?

No. The brief does the building. You change words in a text editor, the way you would in a document, and the walkthrough shows where everything is.

What does it cost to run?

Nothing for most churches. Cloudflare Pages, Netlify and GitHub Pages host a site like this for free; a custom domain is the only cost.

Can I use it for a nonprofit?

Yes. Swap the pages for the ones your organization needs (programs, get help, give, contact); the brief shows how.

Is it really free?

Yes. Enter your first name and email and the download page opens right away. You'll also get my emails on church communications and AI, and you can unsubscribe anytime.
